Our aim is to give elderly Jewish immigrants in Israel a loving home where they can live out their days in peace and security
What are the most important things in life as you pass retirement age?
Are you comfortably settled in your own home, secure in the knowledge that no-one can take it from you?
Everyone deserves a “place to call home”, especially those advancing in years.
The problem is – none of us like to think of getting old!
We tend to bury our heads in the sand, but there comes a time when the issues have to be faced.
Streams in the Desert, a registered charity in England and Wales, is seeking to address the problem for elderly new immigrants in Israel.
Most of these elderly people have come to Israel (and are still coming) from the former Soviet Union where they lived in poverty and faced increasing anti-Semitism.
Our aim is to give these precious people, some of whom survived the Holocaust, a loving environment where they can relax, feel at home and be in control of their own lives.
